GURPS Banestorm redux

Things the GM needs to know before proceeding:

  • Are you all going with the get-on-a-boat ASAP plan?

  • Are you trying to take the horse with you?

  • If not, what are you doing with it?

“Dump the horse, get on a boat and go” I can do immediately.

Anything involving selling the horse etc requires me to know specifics about what people are actually going to do, not just what they might do (for which several mutually-contradictory suggestions have been mentioned).

Right, the horse.
I was picturing this place all wrong, there’s a lot less people about than I thought so the con is out.

If there’s no objections, disguises and fancy weapon prep here where no-one is watching closely, before the dash for a boat.

If we dump the horse here it’ll just get found, so once the disguises and weapons are sorted here
Eoin will take it to the stable master with a story about finding it wandering near where the skirmish happened.
He’ll either just hand it over, or try for as much money as he can quickly negotiate for it. Depending on what people of Yrrth would generally find less suspicious. Then join the others on the boat to Hadaton.

But, if there are objections just drop whatever part of that is an issue. I’m pretty much good with whatever gets the game moving again.

Edit: Actuallly, bugger that let’s dump it and go to get this train rolling again.

Agreed. I think Thwip and Ranar can cover the beggars? Let’s do that

Time to work out what you plan on doing once you reach Hadaton. And the chance for some roleplaying posts on the narrative thread as y’all get to know one another.

EDIT:

I decided to pass the buck instead. :stuck_out_tongue:

Google translate has just told me that I mentally mispronounced Eabd’s name the entire time he was in the party.

Yeah.

Eabd as in Abdul. Just a hint of an E at the start.

Waiting on a response from Sasha, BTW.

@strokeybeard

Sorry, didn’t have much to say and forgot I hadn’t said it

I’m assuming that sometime during the voyage, Hayu had time to float her plan for the weapons past Eoin?

Well, giving y’all a chance to do that was why I was prolonging the boat trip…

But you can take it as read if you don’t want to do it on the narrative thread.

It helps in this format to be a self-starter.

Hey, I am trying not to take over the whole thread, and to give other people a chance. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It’s not my fault that they were in a hurry to get off the boat.

If we’re taking it as read Hayu floated the idea past Eoin, he’ll have mentioned he knows just the guy. Or at least, just the guy who’ll know the guy.

But after the boat, find place to stay and/meet up point for after any split party shenanigans, then go get these weapons sold and the party cashed up?

Did Sasha heal up Thwips arm on the way because otherwise he has been in a splint and sling for a week.

Thwip is at full HP, but still has a broken arm. Thwip needs to either:

  1. Find a healer who can cast Restore Limb [1], or
  2. Wait a few months for it to heal naturally.

[1] Sasha has the restore-HP spells, but none of the ancillary stuff (Stop Bleeding, Cure Disease, Reverse Poison, etc). He’s not a specialist healer.

Hadaton:

The Islamic neighbourhood is the bit just above the market square. It’s just a lower-class ethnic neighbourhood, not a literal walled ghetto.

BTW: Hadaton is a walled city, and it’s not the sort of place where random civilians are allowed to wander around kitted for war. You got away with it in Tredroy because you were members of the mercenary’s guild, but not here.

Transporting weaponry is legal (but may attract notice), but walking around in armour carrying shield/crossbow/etc will get you arrested.

A sheathed knife or sword (up to broadsword size) is acceptable, anything more than that is not. Ranar might get away with one axe, but it’d be pushing your luck.

What’s up first? Heading to find an inn, or going to meet Eoin’s contact in the Islamic neighbourhood?

I’ll post some further adventures of Captain Jean Luc Thwip when I get home in a few hours.
