So, I’m gonna admit that day 18 has pretty much broken my brain. I haven’t entirely given up on it, but I set it aside over the last two weeks… I have an approach that mostly seems to work for the data structure I expect for it, but then when I tried expanding it I got nonsensical results and I haven’t had the heart to sit down and troubleshoot why yet. I probably could have done the thing by hand in less time than I’ve spent on trying to get my code right for it.
The annoying thing is that this kind of problem is the sort of thing I loved doing 15+ years ago, but I’m having so much trouble wrapping my brain around it now…
