Advertorial: Cruel Tools Driver Bits -- now in Rainbow!

Do you enjoy replacing screws? Have an unfortunately distant relationship with your stripped screw remover bits? Need more color in your workshop? Then I have a deal for you!

These driver bits come in two varieties and ten colors, though the colors are close enough that you still need to look at the driver end to determine which one is correct. Half of the drivers are soft enough that your moderately powered cordless drill will strip the drive head on the bit with the first use, and the other half will strip a Philips or Torx head, or snap the head off a stainless deck screw. To keep this interesting, these hardnesses are assigned randomly. Good luck!

For under $11, you too can bring the frustration and angst of unreliable tools to your workshop, destroy a novice maker’s faith in their ability to learn, and mangle your projects. Comes with a stiff and inconsistently sized holder made of finest molded plastic. Half of the bits will not come free without channel locks and can never be replaced, and the other half will be gone down the register the first time you take the assembly out of your pocket.

Do not buy this. Seriously, for the love of making, buy anything else.

That reminds me that people did not want their edit history public at BB. I have changed it here to reflect that until we can deliberate on it further.

Do you want me to pull the link or make the link naked? I think amazon has that image hosting, but I can’t be sure.

It’s cool. Don’t worry about it.

I appreciate that you made it a link to Amazon Smile.

At the risk of necroposting, I tend not to make fun of the sales articles, but that, good mutant, was wonderful satire.
I laughed. A lot.

I considered starting a thread for this, but this seems kind of like a throwaway WTF, but it is related to Amazon.

What is the connection between labels and spoons? Not regular spoons, little spoons, but what I don’t get is how these are “Frequently Bought Together”. Anyone have any insight on this? I go through thousands of labels a year, and never once did I feel like I was missing a case of little spoons.

My wild guess is that they are indirectly related as things that small businesses buy.

When odd things correlate on Amazon, I usually assume I’m missing a drug making/selling/taking use (like when I bought a mini table scale, and Amazon assumed I’d be interested in little plastic baggies thereafter - and odd stuff that I can’t recall when I ordered 99% rubbing alcohol, that turned out to be related to making meth iirc) , but yeah. @garymon’s hypothesis sounds more plausible, here.

There was also a period when Amazon ads thought I wanted nothing more than to buy Ukuleles, so…

Yeah, I figured it was banal, like you and @garymon. But, months ago I looked for small tupperware, and they decided I am interested in drug stuff (I’m not even sure I understand what dabbing is, beyond the vague basics, but it apparently requires some small containers), so I thought perhaps there was something sinister or funny, but it’s probably something super boring, like coffee shops need a lot of labels or whatever. Wah wah wah…

I’ve been dabbing for a couple years. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask here or PM I don’t mind. Nothing is too basic to ask.

I dunno, Amazon thinking you’re a drug kingpin is kinda un-banal.

I had a teenager ask me to dab for a camera once. I ‘said no politely’ (well, something like that.)

Though better that than enabling a Uke addiction.

Remember kids: Harmonicas lead to Ukes. Ukes lead to Concertinas. Concertinas lead to Bagpipes. Just Say No.

They wanted to take a photo of your first dab? Probably get a lot of derpy shots of people that way. lol

My first dab: I was at my regular dispensary. Had been hearing more and more about dabbing. They had started a dab bar off to one side of the shop. The bud tender working the bar was a very attractive girl I had a friendly crush on. So that decided that. I sat down at the bar. Picked the strain I wanted. She set the rig up and got me a glass of water. When I was ready she tapped the nail into the skillet and I started drawing for all I was worth. It was a nice day with light streaming in the windows behind her. As I looked up from the hit all I saw was pure whiteness. I was floating in heaven and full of bliss. The first part of my vision that returned was her face. Beautiful and smiling. An angel. Then the rest of the room slowly returned to my vision and I realized where I was. I sat there sipping my water for about 5 minutes just feeling all warm and glowing. We talked about my experience some and she said that happened sometimes but wasn’t the norm. Which I can confirm. I have only had that intense effect one other time (After a month long T break).
