Climate change and climate justice

Worry not

I wish I could not. But I just can’t not.

Yup. Time to make plenty of backups and put them in safe places. Abroad.
We’re going to see digital equivalents of SA hordes purging libraries and burning books.
And burning actual books as well.

QAA Podcast: Mal Fuego feat. Mike Rothschild (E308)
LA is going through one of the most destructive natural disasters in its history. So naturally there is a lot of nonsense online about the secret purpose of the blazes. To discuss, we talk to journalist and climate refugee Mike Rothschild. The author of Jewish Space Lasers is one of many people who lost their homes to the Eaton fire. We chat about what it’s like to evacuate in order to escape a fast-spreading fire, climate change, and some of the more popular ways that online conspiracists are speculating about the causes of the conflagration.

But you don’t see a city the size of LA burning in Finland, do you? See, it’s all because of the lib’s mismanagement! (/s)

Possible in theory… We just have to move 2 million people to Helsinki capital region and house them…

See, that’s the thing that Finland got right. They eradicated liberalism and socialism so they can tackle things like taxes, healthcare, and forest fires properly. (also /s)

I’m sorry to hear that healthcare access is deteriorating, but happy to hear that at least 60% of voters aren’t happy about it. I hope that plays out in your next elections.

In contrast, back in December I tried to make a doctor’s appointment, but can’t be seen until March. This year, if my medical costs get high enough, my out of pocket expenses will equal about 25% of my anticipated gross income.

But thankfully, I live in the best country in the universe, which has conquered socialism, and is well on its way to installing an orange, shambling, meandering, and very, very vindictive god emperor. God bless the USA.

My brother is visiting friends in Scotland at the moment. :grimacing: So far, they’re all OK, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for them.
