I also put this in the Good News thread:

Have these people even read the First Amendment?

They don’t effin’ care.

I wonder if they’ll also require that it be sung under a flag with 15 stars and 15 stripes, which was the configuration of the U.S. flag at the time. Because obviously stuff like that is sacred and never, ever gets updated.

Hey, they’re just “expressing the sense,” just like I’m expressing the sense that Oklahoma has bigger issues for its representative to worry about than how a drinking song with rewritten lyrics ought to be sung.

Yep!

Good to see that this issue still has legs.

We’ll see. I hope it does… but he could also be attempting to play to the base and save his own skin. As speaker, there are probably some stuff he could do to put pressure on Bondi or the FBI to release documents. The question is will he do that?

[ETA] Also, it strikes me that the “let the people decide” is a bit of a cop-out, too. It’s not random MAGA stans that will put someone on trial for any crimes committed. It will just be more fodder for conspiracism to run rampant on social media. So… I don’t know. :woman_shrugging:

Yeah. What a country, where any decent person pretty much has only that awful issue to pin their slim bit of hope on! :weary:
