Muddy racetracks can make jockeys go thru multiple pairs of goggles during a single race.
He and his mount obviously spent most of their time in front, since it looks like only one pair is grubby!

I been to their museum once. Every room had mountain sized man standing in it. It was dragons lair and all I wanted to see were Cobra, Reverso, Calibre 89, old stuff and automatons.
