This is a niiice helmet. Check this out:
The outer shell is somewhat free to wibble about, while the safety spongey stuff stays put. That’s so smart!
…and then there’s THIS:
What genius. Bizarre, silly, doubtless highly effective, protective Genius.

Our last but one equestrian helmets had thick, sorta industrial grade, very solid, charcoal gray styrofoam “padding” up against the wearer’s head. That stuff collapses inside the shell instead of the noggin; but it was stiff, uncomfortable, and hot; boring (not to mention outdated-sounding; it was the 90s); prob’ly far less effective; and definitely less curious and amusing than these spikes.
I’d still get catalogs, and an occ horsey magazine when we couldn’t afford lessons, and still try to stay abreast of riding/equine care techniques and technologies. I love seeing the new helmets, and new/improved safety tech.
I researched, and we tried on so many helmets, from so many companies. Despite all the small women and adolescent riders, it’s difficult to find smol helmets that fit. We visited a really big saddler, and tried on like 7, which ran from $35 - $100. We even tried on a coupla $300+ ones, and were we ever relieved when they didn’t fit! We laughed.
This looks like a terrific helmet, and when it comes to melon-protecting objects, [Ren Hoek voice]I know what I am talking about.[/Ren Hoek voice]
