Where we went wrong that rich houses don’t look like this anymore:
Such bravery
Note: The ballsacks are actually not gender-reaffirming surgery but a totally optional fashion choice!
Today’s gender is geographic
FL: When I let myself loose, I end up in the news
DC: My gender is the people’s choice
NY: I’m so fabulous I have to be mentioned twice
ugh… that reminded me of a book I read a while ago about the many, many failures of the american healthcare system with enphasis on specific cases… and one PoC woman who had breast cancer, no insurance, and waited until the breast literally fell off to go to the doctor.
I said it many times to many friends. For all the good US has, the consistent refusal to implement universal healthcare makes that country an automatic blacklist for me. The insistence that instead we should be the ones dismantling our systems and implementing private healthcare sickens me. Any guy who defends private healthcare is defending literal assasination of the poor, with the classic capitalistic removal of responsibility by placing the burden on the individual.
We joke here that breaking bad would have never happened in europe, or at least it would have been a very much different show. But we can joke about it because it’s true.
Decent care for all, let alone not having to worry about whether a health crisis will result in personal bankruptcy-- that sounds really nice.
I guess the ever westward striving American Frontier has yet to become civilized.
