It’s been twice this week that I have been woken from my much needed sleep by rabblerousers. On Sunday at 5AM some riders decided my street was perfect to rest - no issues - and play loud music - very much issues. Yesterday some pride party rejects¹ decided it was time to continue the party in front of my house, screaming loudly and throwing bottles at the containers (and missing, and breaking glass).

So again this year considering buying a slingshot and stink capsules…

¹ I don’t mean it completely derrogatory, there was a pride party yesterday and my neighborhood is just next to the gay area of the city.

That lower right hand reason pretty much encapsulates the MAGA and conservative movement.

Instead of today

  • I have polio (thanks, antivaccine guyhs)
  • I’m secretly gay (or trans, more probably)
  • I can’t get through my day without a shit ton of drugs (antidepressants and Adderall)
  • I’m not allowed to wear pants (or personal attire) to college
  • I beat the shit out of my son and molested my daughter and no one will ever do a goddamn thing about it (as long as yo do it discreetly, live in an evangelical area or are filthy rich)

I think they are nailing the “back to good ol times” :frowning:

Well the windows are wide open and the foxes start mating and the horrifying yowls fill the air and then I wake up and then that wakes up the dog who barks furiously and none of them will settle down. Basically a nights sleep gone twice this week.

I know people sometimes post a comic called “foxes in love” here and it’s cute. But that noise….

Proper screams, it’s terrible, your first thoughts go to something in excruciating pain…

I probably don’t know what I’m wishing for and I would come to regret it, but I would trade your yowls for my screams. My brain usually is good filtering what I think of as “natural” sounds, but human speech… i’m forced to pay attention.

We used to live right in the night part of town and have our windows open all summer because it’s warm in the middle of town.

Sometimes you would hear things that were not cool and made you frightened.

Foxes are that. It’s uncanny and horrifying.

To me it sounds like the fitful screams of someone being strangled (I imagine)

It’s still a lot less effort to hijack the party than build a new one from scratch…
