I had dinner last night with a friend who was in that area & shot some video. Definitely not planes.
Do the “authorities” not realise that people damn well know what planes and helicopters look like? And drones, at this point. Claiming that people are mistaking helicopters for these things is ludicrous.
I’ll acknowledge that there’s not really much trump could say that would make me happy (with the exception of “Urk! My heart!”), but reading the quotes of him talking about this is just an embarrassment. Seriously, this guy makes George W Bush look articulate!
…and wise.
When I went to school in Northumberland in the 80s, the A10s used to practice strafing runs over our school. Those things are fucking huge. And loud.
We would get them flying over our base too, although they were just passing over. I’ll admit I loved seeing them and they still hold a special place in my heart (well, I mean, as much as a huge death machine can, right?)
Many officers in the USAF hated them because the A10s didn’t live up to what they thought a “proper” Air Force plane should be - fast, shiny, high flying, all that, but especially because they were being flown by enlisted troops and not just officers. On the other hand, they could fly with one engine gone, half a wing on one side, and large chunks of the fuselage missing. I guess it’s a choice between looking cool and being in something that’s survivable.
Looking cool? Survivability?
The A-10 is both.
And can fly surprisingly slow and low.
(Had the odd one overhead during exercises simulating close air support for ground troops.)
Well, this should shut up all the critics and doubters.
Has he been offered a cabinet position yet?
Remember those pesky drones? Turns out the FAA was behind it all along
Time to pack it up and go home, drone conspiracy theorists: The White House has finally offered an explanation for those mysterious New Jersey drone sightings from late last year - though its rather vague statement raises more questions than it answers.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt held the first press briefing of Trump’s second term yesterday, kicking off with what she said was news “directly from the President”.
“After research and study, the drones that were flying over New Jersey in large numbers were authorized to be flown by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for research and various other reasons,” Leavitt said. “Many of these drones were also hobbyists, recreational and private individuals that enjoy flying drones.”
Leavitt suggested public “curiosity” amplified the situation, adding, “This was not the enemy,” before moving on to unrelated business.

The coverup continues.
That’s what they want you to thin… wait, what?
My phone freezes when I try to read that 7ft Mantis article. Shadowy Forces are clearly at work
Never mind that drones essentially shut down Langley AFB. Nothing to see here!
Given their reactions before the election (IIRC, “We don’t know what this is but it’s clearly the fault of Democrats and Wokeness and DEI and why isn’t Biden being held responsible”), and now (“It’s fine. It’s all normal and fine. There is nothing to see here. Shut up and let us tell you how we just increased the chocolate ration to 20 grams”), I have to wonder if there wasn’t a large amount of MAGA morons doing it deliberately, and they know it.
