Maybe this belongs in the Motors thread, but I’ll just post it here.
If Trump had an ounce of intellectual curiosity the answers would be obvious. Most European streets are narrow, parking is limited and small, and bigger vehicles are not very popular as a result.
As an example, small BMWs like the X1, X2, 1, and 2 series are popular in Europe but don’t sell very well in the US (and in the case of the 1 series, aren’t sold at all). Those vehicles are made in Germany knowing they will mostly sell in Europe and the UK. On the other hand, the much larger X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, and XM are made in South Carolina and imported to Europe because most buyers are in the US.
American brands like Ford, Chevrolet, and Chrysler don’t make small cars anymore. In fact, they barely make cars at all! Ford’s only non-SUV/truck is the Mustang and it’s barely smaller than an X5 FFS. Chevrolet’s only car is the Malibu which certainly isn’t something that’ll set anybody’s heart on fire. Cadillac still has a couple cars, but they are large and expensive. Chrysler only sells minivans these days.
Meanwhile with Trump gutting EV incentives and emissions standards, what motivation is there for any American car brand to make anything other than huge SUVs and minivans since that’s what sells here but not in other places?
These should not be difficult to understand. If he’s such a big capitalist, this is your most basic case of the free markets doing their thing.
Also never mind American car makers have plenty of brands and models that exclusively sell in Europe. But facts, fuck ‘em, right?

Yesterday I saw a naïve post somewhere saying that perhaps finally, at long last, maybe we found what the limit to acceptable behavior was for members of this administration when this dude was found to have openly and unambiguously bragged to the world about his extreme racism, and that seemed to lead to his removal. But of course there literally is no limit to what these guys can say or do.
