Straight down Bourbon street at 3am on New Years, so you know it was packed with people just out to have fun… WTAF is wrong with people.

And apparently the police blocked people from helping the injured. I guess their excuse will be that they didn’t want anyone else getting injured until they knew the threat was contained.

I don’t know if this is the right spot for this but during the press conference right now Senator John Kennedy just made a political speech and talked poorly of the federal government. He said he had information that they better share. The whole press conference is like an awards show with everyone thanking each other while sharing no new information.

The press conference has like 300 people at the podium.

Oh, and they canceled the Sugar Bowl until tomorrow.

We have a thread on congress, so feel free to cross post that there, too.

What we do know is that Jabbar was a US Army veteran who served in the US military for 13 years, including a deployment to Afghanistan. He was reportedly going through a divorce and had expressed a desire to kill his entire family.

The Army is not training the best.

Grim news, delivered without self aggrandizing or jingoism. I can’t help but think “I’m going to miss that.” (Not that I want more such news at any time.) The reporter at the end who was shouting out “have you spoke to President Trump” really irritated me, though.
