PATERSON, NJ – The Paterson City Council voted against a proposed amendment to an ordinance that would regulate public sleeping and camping in the city. The amendment, which faced significant opposition from residents and advocacy groups, included penalties for violations that could reach up to $2,000 in fines, 90 days of imprisonment, community service, or a combination of these.

In the vote, 98% of shareholders rejected the proposal.

Great! I wonder though how well the company will respond to its workers going on strike.

I’m confused, the shareholders voted to keep Costco’s DEI policies in place rather than going with the recommendations from the conservative think tank. I wouldn’t think they would strike over that.

I meant this strike. Which I hope Costco is equally cool about.

Oh oh oh, thanks! I am not caught up in that thread. Somehow, it never came up in my other news diet, either. Weird…not like there’s been anything else going on this week. :sob:

Good! Glad to see that. He can just rot up there at his fancy house on the Isle of Sky, with no new projects and think about what he’s done all these years, and MAYBE admit it and start trying to make amends for all the pain he’s caused…

Too little, too late, and too suspect:

Edison had to file paperwork with the CPUC for any fire that they potentially could have started, and the Eaton Fire was one of two (Hurst Fire was the other). Palisades was thought to have started in a backyard. Regardless, Edison has been told to preserve documents.

String of recent killings linked to Bay Area ‘death cult’

“Zizians,”

focusing on matters such as veganism and artificial intelligence destroying humanity.

Mind struggles here. Veganism is destroying humanity… AI I can understand, but veganism? Seriously? Sigh, “Seek not for logic where it dwells not.” And, man, it dwells not!

I suspect that should have said they promote veganism and also promote the idea that AI will destroy humanity. As in, they are vegans.

I tried to find some more info on the group but Andy Ngo has decided that they are transgender. So now every source is absolutely suspect as transphobic

"Zizians,” named after their informal founder, Jack “Ziz” LaSota. Called a cult by some, the group is a radical offshoot of the rationalist community, LessWrong.

Like that? (Is that the “Harvard comma” I keep hearing about?)

Probably? But it’s a sentence where I think even the comma isn’t going to do enough. It just needed to be completely reworked. I did read somewhere not too suspect that the group promotes veganism.
Much more believable than whatever nonsense Ngo is peddling about the group all being transgender.
