That overriding governmental interest should at least carry over to State & Community Colleges.

“It doesn’t seem paranoid to worry that someone who’s had services denied that they may believe are important might be in an emotionally unstable state and could take some action,” Michael Sherman, former chief medical officer at Point32Health, told Stat, a health industry publication. “The most likely targets would be the chief medical officer … or the CEO.”

That phrase, tho.

Like, oh, lifesaving therapy for their spouse or child, humane care for their parents, medication for their own mental health. We had Sentara buy one of our Medicaid providers and immediately change the whole formulary. Kids who had been stable on psych meds for years had go off on short notice and start over with a whole new set of “approved” drugs. No appeals, no provisions for more time. Do it now, or pay out of pocket. Now we are looking at tons of kids getting abruptly thrown off Medicaid due to trigger laws here as soon as Il Douche and his cronies stop the expansion payments. And yes, I believe that taking care of our children (and they are all our children damn it) is pretty damned important. God, I hate this timeline.

Well, see saving the life of someone they love might be important… but what about the CEOs yacht… is one yacht REALLY enough…

And these dipshits wonder why people are rubbing their hands in glee over this guy’s death.

Some in glee, I suspect most are just looking at their watches and going “oh, is it almost guillotine time already? It always sneaks up on you, doesn’t it.”

Sure, but my point is that people are pissed over what’s going on here with healthcare. I consider my family extremely lucky with regards to our coverage, but even there, we’ve had issues getting things approve that caused us some issues. We’re lucky to be in the medical network we’re in, which has a lot of prestige and sway and our insurer is less likely to deny coverage than this company… but people are righteously angry about the state of our for-profit systems.

United CEO Andrew Witty gave an address to the company today (leaked to me), telling employees “we guard against…unnecessary care” and that “There are very few people in the history of the U. S. healthcare industry who had a bigger positive effect on American healthcare than Brian [Thompson].”

emphasis mine

These people are ghouls :rage::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Is this like an ink blot test? I see a clean shaven Jake Gyllenhaal during his Donnie Darko period.

I’ll have to check it out. I really liked the first season of Westworld, but seasons 2 and 3 I liked less each season.
