Bauer alleged that on Feb. 12, 2020, officer Antonio Iodice “viciously” assaulted him in a bathroom, punching him in the head and throwing him to the ground and kicking him repeatedly in the side.

After the beating, the guards took Bauer to the Marcy infirmary in a van where they forced him to lie face down on the floor while Anzalone kicked his feet, the inmate said.

However, the guards told the nurse that Bauer’s injuries were self-inflicted, the lawsuit alleges.

At the hospital, the guards told medical staff that another inmate had inflicted the injuries on him, Bauer said.

Bauer said that, upon his return to Marcy, a corrections officer grabbed him in the infirmary bathroom and threatened him if he told anyone about the assault.

Bauer suffered a permanent facial deformity from the beatings. One of the officers involved, part of the alleged beat-up squad at the prison, was also involved in the murder of Robert Brooks in very similar circumstances.

In case anyone is not of a mind to read TFA, then: yes, a 737 (-800 in tihs case).

Yes, but not a MAX-8.

Up until earlier today ADSB exchange showed the flight as in-progress, but it had been removed now.

Right, not a MAX series, so not the specific model with the impugned safety record. But 737s in general have been having a bad run of it lately. Granted, they are (I’m pretty sure) the single most popular commercial airframe in the world, by a long shot, so the odds would be in their favor, so to speak.

On the subject of 737s and follow-up news, this was released just yesterday. Here he explains the crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 in minute detail.

One of the points he makes is that Ethiopian Airlines is a highly-regarded, responsible airline. And Boeing relied on anti-African stereotypes to protect themselves in the media.

Straight down Bourbon street at 3am on New Years, so you know it was packed with people just out to have fun… WTAF is wrong with people.

And apparently the police blocked people from helping the injured. I guess their excuse will be that they didn’t want anyone else getting injured until they knew the threat was contained.

I don’t know if this is the right spot for this but during the press conference right now Senator John Kennedy just made a political speech and talked poorly of the federal government. He said he had information that they better share. The whole press conference is like an awards show with everyone thanking each other while sharing no new information.

The press conference has like 300 people at the podium.

Oh, and they canceled the Sugar Bowl until tomorrow.

We have a thread on congress, so feel free to cross post that there, too.

Fuck. My assumption was it was a drunk-driving moron, but of course it’d be domestic terrorism. It’s not enough for someone to be a horrible person, it has to be entirely deliberate and premeditated. This is 2025, after all.
