As the transgender community continues to fight for civil rights in the U.S., one of the most common arguments against progress is that transgender people are a recent phenomenon.
But itās a fight thatās been happening here for decades and around the world for centuries.
Heh, Iāve been drafting an email to send to my parents about all of this, sort of a second coming-out. I was going to include a bunch of stuff about the multiple genders in Mesopotamia, Egypt, Scythia, etc. before deciding maybe it was getting to be too much of an info dump.
Once again, Teen Vogue is doing good journalism while the big papers have turned into lap dogs.
