Many people have said it, but the bar to repealing an amendment is very high. Impossibly high, in this case, what with the number of people who fear that this current administration is going to end in armed insurrection. And as the WaPo points out, this is not helping solve the problem, but merely building another wall between the Democrats and the Republicans.

Though it can be read that way, it doesnât seem to be the intent of the present-day telling.
A certain Father had a family of Sons, who were forever quarreling among themselves. No words he could say did the least good, so he cast about in his mind for some very striking example that should make them see that discord would lead them to misfortune.

Well, all right, you get the cops who have committed homicide (and probably gotten away with it), and the surviving mass murderers, arm them with their choice of firearms and ammo, lock them in as many large stadiums as required, and let them have at it. Surely the NRA canât disapprove, can they? You have âgood guys with gunsâ vs âbad guys with gunsâ, after all.
