There’s a video showing him speaking to 3044 empty chairs. Why did he continue speaking, I wonder?

I read about him earlier today. I wonder if there’ll be legal action taken against 45?
In addition to mapping out their national strategy, NRA leaders can also be heard describing the organization’s more activist members in surprisingly harsh terms, deriding them as “hillbillies” and “fruitcakes” who might go off script after Columbine and embarrass them.
And they dismiss conservative politicians and gun industry representatives as largely inconsequential players, saying they will do whatever the NRA proposes. Members of Congress, one participant says, have asked the NRA to “secretly provide them with talking points.”

If he’s doing it for the attention, I just want to cry.
There may be more details here. But his dad bought the gun, and his parents told him to shut up. So I think they’re hiding something.
just saw that a 4th student has now died. not sure if everyone here saw it, but there was a TikTok video going around from one of the kids in one classroom. the shooter tried to get into the room and tried to get them to unlock the door, saying he was a sheriff trying to help them, but then he said “bro” and one other kid in the room said “he said ‘bro’ – red flag, red flag” and they didn’t let him in. they then escaped out a window. terrifying stuff, but so amazing that the kids had the presence of mind to catch the shooter’s gaffe.
I want his parents to explain why they told him not to talk to the authorities. He’s gonna have to talk sometime. And if they’re gonna milk this for noteriety…makes me want to vomit, just thinking about it.
I saw it, it was both heartening (that the kids did so fucking well in the circumstance) and heartbreaking (that the kids even had to).
well, it’s his right to not say anything until he has spoken to an attorney, so maybe it was just that? i have no idea.
EDIT: more info! apparently it actually was a plainclothes officer on the other side of the door who said “bro” – i still think the kids were smart to not risk opening the door.
