The law came in response to failures from Congress to pass gun control.
…
“America would not exist without the heroism of the young adults who fought and died in our revolutionary army,” Judge Ryan Nelson wrote in the 100-page ruling from the San Francisco-based 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals, overturning the law. “Today we reaffirm that our Constitution still protects the right that enabled their sacrifice: the right of young adults to keep and bear arms.”

I’m amazed he didn’t cite Kyle Rittenhouse.

sounds like:
“the right of young white men to drive hours to shoot and kill dark people”

Pretty sure the “age of majority” was 21 in 1776

It disturbs me so much reading all of the religious rhetoric from the government on this.>

Gov. Kathy Hochul called the gunman a “white supremacist” who terrorized New York’s second-largest city in a “cold-hearted,” “military-style execution” as people were buying groceries.

“It strikes us in our very hearts to know that there’s such evil that lurks out there,” she said. "This individual – this white supremacist – who just perpetrated a hate crime on an innocent community, will spend the rest of his days behind bars. And heaven help him in the next world as well."

And this

President Joe Biden was briefed on the attack and was praying for those affected, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement.

Why are they talking like this? Don’t need the President to pray. I need him to do his damn job and protect innocent citizens from extremists.

As I saw in a comment on FB, which I’m gonna paraphrase…Texas will take care of 'em while they’re in the womb, but after that they’re FUCKED.

To me, this is when the shit started hitting the fan in the streets…

Do they not secure school buildings in Texas? A the school where my sister works, in California, you need to be buzzed in to get into the office / reception. There are more locked doors before you get to the regular offices, or the area where any kids might be.

It’s the same elementary school we all went to, and back then, they didn’t even close the gates during the day. Today’s kids are growing up in a fascist hellscape, and the fascists are filled with puffery and indignation, while the rest of us just don’t like seeing kids die all the time and are criticized for it.
