“Not who, them. Those fucking heathens north of Newmarket. We should return the favour, if you ask me. Burn the bastards out”.

Thwip
“Tere’s an entire gang off arsonists operatingk oot off tere?!”
Thwip maintains an iron wall of helpful misinterpretation in the hope that the ridiculousness will bounce off of him loudly enough for the man to hear it.

Eoin steps in.
“Could you point us at a decent enchanter? And an alchemist?”
“Ah, w-well. We have six left. Each is unique. One is an unusual halberd, one is an exceptionally elaborate dagger, the rest are prime examples of different varieties of swords.”
“Aye. As you say, we are just shaking off the dust of our journey. May we contact you again once we are settled in? I canna say yet how long we may be here, but we may find ourselves looking for work, and ye may find yourself looking for workers, or know someone who is.”

“I believe we can come to an arrangement”, Waleed replies.
“I can put you in touch with whatever contacts or services you require in Hadaton, and I can also organise the sale of your goods for a fair price. But I will require a favour in return.”
He leans forward over his desk, and fixes the gaze of each of you in turn.
“You have noted the fires in the city, yes? Perhaps you have heard the rumblings amongst the Christians that attempt to blame these crimes upon the people of the true faith?”
“I know my people; these fires were not the work of any of my brothers or sisters. But if the culprit is not identified, a terrible tragedy could occur. I want you to investigate, and see what you can reveal.”
Waleed settles back into his chair with a sigh.
“We must act quickly; this city is a tinderbox in more ways than one.”
Ranar
“Aye. That we can do. We will investigate and see what we can uncover. 'Tis best we start moving before the next fire.”
Ranar stands, flattening down his tunic for something to do with his hands, and glances briefly at Eoin. Turning back toward Waleed, he asks “If indeed a third party were to pit your people against the Christians, what might they achieve?”

Waleed scowls.
“No third parties required. The crusaders here have never been happy that Muslims remain in these lands”.
He sits back in his chair, his face relaxing.
“I suppose that can’t be ruled out, though. Anything is possible in Cardiel. I doubt that my cousins to the north or west are involved, but there could be a Baron looking to embarrass Prince Crivelli or some other such devilry.”
Rising from his chair, he escorts you to the door.
“This is why I have engaged your service. Let me know as soon as you find anything, or if you need any assistance. Leave me one of the weapons as a sample, and I will begin talking to arms dealers”.
Ranar
“That we shall do.” Ranar turns and clears his throat. “Erm, Eoin, your sword will have to ahm, serve as the sample since we’ve left the rest in safekeeping.” Turning back to Waleed “I trust you’ll keep it in good shape. I think he’ll be wanting this one back. We thank you for your assistance. Twas a pleasure to meet you.”
That said, he turns abruptly and begins down the stairs. “We should find Hayu and meet with the others. Decide where to begin with … this.” he says quietly to Eoin.
