Trump doesn’t care who runs what or how, just so long as everyone cheers him and salutes him and praises him and calls him the bestest and powerfullest boy ever. He has no idea how anything is run, and no interest in it. He’s interested in people asking him what he thinks about everything, and pretending that everything he says is profound and thoughtful. He wants to live his life like that dream you have where you don’t know how, but you can just play the guitar better than Andrés Segovia, Django Reinhart, Robert Johnson, Mark Knopfler, or Bryan May: you don’t know what you’re doing, but your fingers touch the strings and music just happens. Trump wants to stand in front of a camera, and have a Nobel Prize just happen. Trump doesn’t understand or care how it happens, he just wants parades and praise and obeisance.
Stephen Miller, on the other hand, he has thought very deeply about how to end democracy and replace it with himself. So have all the other fascists who wrote the 2025 Project. It doesn’t matter that each of the groups who put their hand into it have mutually exclusive goals: the one thing they have in common is that they want the end of liberalism, the end of progressivism, the end of human rights, and the end of democracy. Once they have that, they’ll start fighting each other about the end game.
Iwas regerring to the Orange Gibbon, but your assessment is true as well. He has no clue, just throwing a tantrum. Othets will take advantage of that, though.
I see this as the second part of the Trump post about not cracking down on undocumented immigrants in hospitality and agriculture - what was implicit there, and more explicit here, was the implication that they’ll make up the quotas by stopping random brown people in Democratic areas. It’s the establishment of a full-on police state, where ICE checkpoints and random sweeps require people to prove their citizenship at all times, where more and more citizens get detained. They’ve already started doing it, but this indicates a serious escalation.
…lawyers for the U.S. government asked a Maryland judge for more time to show they’ve complied with orders to facilitate the return of the Salvadoran national…
Throw the book at them, already. I keep waiting for “filed a motion because the dog ate their homework.” (That or the AI was unreachable)
Why the hell would anyone interpret this as meaning anything remotely good? “We’ve got to do something about the Dreamers” is a fucking threat! One that is being carried out by his goons on a regular basis.
It’s always easier to find the ones who aren’t hiding, who are following the rules, doing the right things and trusting the system. There’s a moral in there somewhere.
