ARMS and SLEEPERS - The Architekt
[details=Lyrics]So if you please I’ll build you a
house underneath the
plantain trees.
And if you please I’ll build you
a boat. We can sail the seven
seas.
And if you please I’ll take you
out of the atmosphere in a
spaceship.
And if you please I’ll take you
out of the atmosphere that I
built. For you.[/details]
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - The Weeping Song
[details=Lyrics]Go son, go down to the water
And see the women weeping there
Then go up into the mountains
The men, they are weeping too
Father, why are all the women weeping?
They are weeping for their men
Then why are all the men there weeping?
They are weeping back at them
This is a weeping song
A song in which to weep
While all the men and women sleep
This is a weeping song
But I won’t be weeping long
Father, why are all the children weeping?
They are merely crying son
O, are they merely crying, father?
Yes, true weeping is yet to come
This is a weeping song
A song in which to weep
While all the little children sleep
This is a weeping song
But I won’t be weeping long
O father, tell me, are you weeping?
Your face seems wet to touch
O then I’m so sorry, father
I never thought I hurt you so much
This is a weeping song
A song in which to weep
While we rock ourselves to sleep
This is a weeping song
But I won’t be weeping long
No, I won’t be weeping long
No, I won’t be weeping long
No, I won’t be weeping long[/details]
Well, yes, but you know how Melz gets fierce about her hard Gs…
Kishi Bashi - “In Fantasia”
[details=Lyrics]In Fantasia the mirrors lie to us they plant a seed
One by one we build an empire where devils roam and breed
Fading sunsets… to forget them is the mark of death
As we break in through the window
Of mind and greed
Darkened bridges sink away into the brackishness
Swirling sin into a rainbow of atrophy
When the winters help the golden autumns take it’s leave
Opens passages for vampires
To suck and feed
Kareru kareru
Subetega kareteruno
Fuyuno sabaku fuyuno sabaku ga hirogaru
Warerano yoruga kuru warerano yoruga hajimaru
Karehaga kareru warerano fuyuno sabaku
Waking insights born of jealousy and faithlessness
Gave us strength among the gentiles of modernity
In Fantasia the spirits hide from us they cannot bleed
Innocence is not a virtue in times of need
Endless twilight… if only stars would show their faithful stare
In this world of fading memories, we’d cease to be
In Fantasia the air is dense to me it hurts to scream
At windless castles in the darkness, too faint to see…[/details]
Piano mood again, but one needs time for listening (fair warning).
And for our Aussies:
Aztec Camera - Oblivious (Official Video) (REMASTERED)
[details=Lyrics]From the mountain tops down to the sunny street
A different drum is playing a different kind of beat
It’s like a mystery that never ends
I see you crying and I want to kill your friends
I hear your footsteps in the street
It won’t be long before we meet
It’s obvious
Just count me in and count me out and
I’ll be waiting for the shout
Oblivious
Met Mo and she’s okay, said no one really changed
Got different badges but they wear them just the same
Down by the ballroom I recognized
That flaming fountain in those kindered caring eyes.
I hear your footsteps in the street
It won’t be long before we meet
It’s obvious
Just count me in and count me out and
I’ll be waiting for the shout
Oblivious
I hope it haunts me 'til I’m hopeless
I hope it hits you when you go
And sometimes on the edge of sleeping
It rises up to let me know it’s not so deep
I’m not so slow
They’re calling all the shots
They call and say they phoned
They’ll call us lonely when we’re really just alone
And like a funny film, it’s kinda cute
They bought the bullets and there’s no one left to shoot.
I hear your footsteps in the street
It won’t be long before we meet
It’s obvious
Just count me in and count me out and
I’ll be waiting for the shout
Oblivious…[/details]
Currently random Art of Noise remixes (which particular one? Who knows. Being an Art of Noise fan means never having to say “You know, I really like that tune, but I just wish there was a different mix”)
Well, one thing about growing up at a time when bands normally improvised ('60s, '70s) was that you got “remixes” as a matter of course when you attended concerts or bought live albums.
Lo-Fang - You’re The One That I Want
[details=Lyrics]I’ve got chills.
They’re multiplying.
And I’m losing control.
'Cause the power
You’re supplying,
Is electrifying
You better shape up,
'Cause you need a man
And my heart is set on you.
You better shape up,
You better understand
To my heart I must be true.
You’re the one that I want,
The one that I want,
The one that I need.
If you’re feeling
Some affection,
That’s too hard to convey.
Meditated,
By direction.
Baby feel your weight.
You better shape up,
'Cause you need a man
And my heart is set on you.
You better shape up,
You better understand
To my heart I must be true.
You’re the one that I want,
The one that I want,
The one that I want.
The one that I need[/details]
It’s nice to have friends sometimes… I’ve known Rod Moulds for about 15 years now.

Brazilian bands Rock Rocket and Ariel Invasor pay tribute to their punk forefathers. Lots of great vintage photos in the video.
Rock Rocket go gore, with a cameo from horror icon José “Coffin Joe” Mojica Marins, in this great (visually and musically) video. NSFW (very bloody, a little bit nipply)
I tend to think of myself as someone who doesn’t really buy folk, and doesn’t ever pre-order stuff, but I think this guy transcends all that sort of nonsense.

Can I borrow your time?
Am I losing my mind?
My skin is aching
My brittle bones are breaking, breaking
It’s so bracing outside
Showers and showers of unhappiness
Pulling air to the little tunnels in my brain
I can hear the familiar voices rumble, rumble
I can feel my life in those hand tremble, tremble
Delicate with me, delicate for
Delicate is easy, delicate is more
I had a dream that I had heavy feet
And that kept you from her sleep
I had a dream that I was gushing streets alone
I had a dream that I was told to keep
Oh, wash it from her sleep
Had a dream husbands did stripped the widow’s bones[/details]
