Sadly this was shot on videotape, and there’s nothing you can do about that. I suppose they needed to use videotape to alter the colors as they did. It always reminds me of the planet Metaluna from This Island Earth.
And I would be remiss if I didn’t put this here too.

When they’re on the planet itself the color pallet shifts. You can do that kind of thing with Technicolor.
