Many people think WD-40 is a lubricant because it’s so good at stopping squeaks, but it’s really a solvent. The WD (water displacement) is actually evaporating away the liquid and grime it makes contact with. It can actually cause rust by exposing metals to more air.

It’s a surprisingly versatile cleaning product with many unexpected uses (cleaning leather for one, although I’d much prefer specialized products for this). But it shouldn’t be used as a lubricant.

Yeah, just like superglue, which sticks your skin together so effectively because it was designed as a battlefield suture (is that the right word?)…

I cannot use it, without ending in mishap.

Brand name regular nail polish remover - not the stuff that’s safe for All the Things!™ with whomst nails are augmented - must take its place amongst the superglue ritual equipment.

Store brand/generic nail polish remover is rarely any good, but might be OK for small superglue slip-ups.

I’ve had a pretty good recent record with it, but a couple decades ago, I had a big foil tube of superglue rupture while I was tying trout flies. Luckily it only covered one hand. I ran to the corner drug store and purchased a bottle of nail polish remover and soaked that hand for a couple hours to get it all off.

The Alpena and her lovely hollyday wear makes up for too much talking, and too long a section of f-fwd’d footage of her approach. Argo The Very Good Ees Pupper also helps

Two of my coworkers had issues with squirrels chomping on their electronics while parked at work. One of them got a rental car during the repairs and the critters got to that one, too. Eeesh! Two $1,000 deductibles later…

This tape would’ve been so helpful.
