Well if you like it mostly for the aesthetics there’s always the option of what my son calls “carbon fibber,” which is the fake carbon fiber wrap that’s basically just a sticker…
I have a “carbon fiber” case for my key fob. It’s made of a Kevlar weave, but looks pretty convincing. (Since carbon fiber can act as a Faraday cage, it’s not the best choice for something that relies on RF signals.)
I do like “carbon fibber”, though. Thats pretty funny. My old WRX definitely had that.
And obviously it was a huge dust magnet.

SHIP = Such a Huge, Impractical Project.
I believe it. I was at a dealership on the last weekend of March to pick up license plates, and it was an absolute zoo like I had never seen before. I was back again the day after “liberation day” to pick something up from the parts department, and it was completely dead. Not a single customer in the showroom. Mrs. Ficus and I spent like 30 minutes just bullshitting with some of the sales people that we like as they had nothing better to do.
Jalopnik published a companion article to the Giz one:
Some car makers are guaranteeing no price increases for in-stock vehicles (as well they should) and some have been willing to eat tariff costs for orders placed before a certain date. Others are already raising prices. I’m beginning to think that Trump’s “Art of the Deal” isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
…and Yankistan just keeps faffing about, letting the bastards pretty much do as they please.
San Francisco finally told 'em to pack it in, tho, didn’t they?
GM’s Cruise ended service there but there’s a ton of Waymo cabs all over the city, and they just announced a deal yesterday to start service at the airport.
I agree that it’s ridiculous that the Federal and State governments are allowing these things on our roads without a lot more regulation. Just being able to handle typical driving is not enough! For just one example, these things can’t follow instructions from emergency responders, leading to incredibly predictable issues of holding up traffic and blocking emergency vehicles.
