Well I just happen to have this old one lying around… It’s not a perfect match but it should do OK.

Eventually, the world’s new largest cruise ship will be so big, that it will not depart port; rather, the ship will have so much mass that the port will need to depart the ship.

Follow up / additional details, focusing on Senator Ted Budd’s SAM Act:

Budd’s bill is exceptionally brief, only one and a half pages long.
Something, something, Budd light… Sorry, couldn’t resist.

Based on Budd’s comments, he barely comprehends what he’s talking about. The United States isn’t in a supersonic race with China. The East Asian power doesn’t have an aviation manufacturer anywhere close to comparable American companies, like Boeing. Comac debuted China’s first mainline passenger jet just a few years ago. Budd seemingly confuses the hypersonic missile development war with a fabricated battle to build new supersonic passenger planes.
Or, he’s lying mildly exaggerating. He wants this act because Boom Supersonic is in his state. Fair enough. But “we must do X to beat China in Y” is exactly what “we must do X to beat The Soviets in Y” used to be during the Cold War. Sometimes this was true, sometimes it wasn’t, but somewhere in the mix there always was a monetary incentive for someone.

[Book Supersonic CEO] Scholl has already visited the Oval Office to make his case to President Donald Trump, someone willing to bend the rules to help his friends and financial backers. In the past, the FAA has been willing to tilt the scale in favor of American aviation giants to help them get appealing aircraft to market.

While the first Overture hasn’t rolled out of the factory yet, United Airlines and American Airlines have already ordered a combined 35 planes with options for 75 more.
Yeah, well… Concorde had that many orders and options from major airlines back then, from a predicted market of ~350 units. They sold seven each to Air France and British Airways. Who had to buy them. Boom Supersonic wants to build 1,000. We’ll see.

In any case, even if scaling up the one seater X-plane into an 80 passenger airliner somehow doesn’t work out after all - right now, all the ducks are in a row for a nice pump and dump if needs be.

That’ll buff out.
