I’d never noticed the single wiper blade on these; my son believes it was standard

ETA: our ride today, a Bajaj Qute. These are locally nicknamed ā€œFerrari.ā€

Yup. That’s a W 201 with the Einarmwischer. From autumn 1984 on it came with a little eccentric thingy that makes the wiper blade move up and down as well as left to right, wiping 86 % of the windscreen.
Unlike certain ugly ā€œlet’s re-invent the wheelā€ EV ā€œtrucksā€ which need not be named.

Not the W 201, but this newer Mercedes uses the same type of wiper. Shown in action. As the blade enters the center of the windshield, it does a little scrubbing motion. :smiley:
