I must apologize; I really screwed up my answer.
I agree with @Melizmatic’s post that I was quoting, and was trying to use it as an example of what I meant.
I was agreeing to @MarjaE’s post only to the part that dehumanization gets people killed. I don’t agree that my comment about sociopaths lacking some part of humanity was meant in any way to be about people who are autistic. That’s why I said it was not in my mind to compare the two, and I was using Mel’s statement as an example of what I did agree with.
The last part of my message was meant to reinforce this, by showing some other examples where people who are “different” have been treated terribly.
I’m really sorry I caused confusion, and I suspect I may have just made it worse.
