Jack Daniels isn’t available on any local shelves in Tennessee either, so why are they fussing?
(It’s a dry county.)

Canada is a big importer of Jack Daniels, so they are going to feel it in a loss of profits. Germany imports a lot too, and who knows what they will be doing about American liquor.
TIL. Not endorsing Canadian “taste” in booze, though. For me, bourbon is .
As an ice hockey player, I am concerned about our official beer getting saddled with tariffs for no good reason. (Labatt Blue, in case folks not near the border are wondering.)
[I ‘earned’ a “trophy” equipment bag from winning a USA Hockey tournament sponsored by Labatt. My team will probably just keep over-paying for our beer. The only acceptable substitute is Molson Canadian. Not gonna help with those tariffs and not as easily available here. Michigan’s own Shorts Local’s Light is pretty popular with both my teams, but it’s kinda heavy (in spite of its name) for pre-game consumption.] It’s literally called “beer league”, everyone…
I foresee day trips in your future!
Not until the Gordie Howe bridge opens this fall.
[The tunnel makes me very nervous and the people who own the Ambassador bridge are complete bastards.]
Mass shooting last night near the Scarborough Town Centre. Nobody killed, fortunately, but it could have been much, much worse. This kind of thing is really unusual here.
Trump will insist it be renamed after a US athlete. Like Arnold Palmer, for example.
“You know, as soon as I saw that bridge, made out of the finest AMERICAN CONCRETE, so long, so firm, my mind immediately thought of Arnold Palmer…”
Today is apparently the day the Liberal Party chooses a new leader; Mark Carney and Christia Freeland are the front runners. Most Canadians believe that Carney is the better choice against both Poilievre for the PMship and against Krasnov.
Freeland has the advantage that T***p hates her for standing up to him, and Putin has banned her from Russia. She’s the author of some serious books, and a more progressive choice than Carney. Since we’re turning our clocks ahead anyway…
Carney is the establishment candidate, and will probably take it. The Conservatives are already aiming their trademark nasty attack ads at him. Poilievre is trying to rebrand as Mr. Canada and hoping we’ll all forget that he was wetting himself and ready to cave in as soon as T***p said 'tariffs", and that he has Leon’s endorsement.
If Carney wins, he’d be wise to keep Freeland on in some capacity, if she’s willing. Foreign Affairs maybe, since Krasnov hates her.
Mark Carney elected new leader of the Liberal Party.
The bridge is owned by Michigan and Ontario. 45 could attempt a baloneyshit EO, but it’ll be exactly as legal as the “renaming” the Gulf of Mexico.
The Canadian military is not sitting down on the job. Interesting to see the collaboration with the local First Nations as well, so if anybody is challenging us in the north, they will be facing people with a lot of local lore and knowledge and expertise in fighting in those conditions. Interesting too, is that the CBC, not noted for overstating things, is addressing the possibility of American aggression.
He looks like the archetypal banker.
