I loved my family’s SE. The sound of its weighty hard drive spinning-up and mounting was musical.

Time for a cigarette break—80s-90s-yo—or possibly lunch. 36 minutes

I gotta respect the technique, but that video was too long by an order of magnitude. I could only take about 40 seconds with the sound on.

Although to be fair, I might give it another try in some sort of background capacity in the future. It looks like it has potential as a sort of gradually evolving meditation that is best consumed with only partial attention.

Or possibly rapt attention. I haven’t quite decided.

The background for the scene of a business meeting in a historical mockumentary maybe?

Never thought I’d hear that sound again!

If 40 minutes is too much, here is the condensed version with added info.

Those high frequencies make my teeth hurt. Sort of limits the meditation potential.

I remember making banners for special occasions like birthdays.

I have often wished for an accurate recreation of the experience of using Print Shop on the Apple ][. It could probably be recreated pretty easily as a web app that produces PDFs, with the obvious downside that banners wouldn’t really work.

On an unrelated note, I picked this up for the 33 1/3rd anniversary:
