I recently set up a static site for my daughter to be able to share the video game she’s been working on with her friends. I used Jekyll to generate it and host it on GitLab pages. It was mostly straightforward, and a lot more fun that setting up Wordpress.

I’m in quite a few, and they’re all doing great. Meanwhile, the larger, more public communities are plagued with issues stemming from data mining and advertising, as well as too many Nazis trying to enter the local bar.
