Our Felonious Ex-President

“ Last week Mr Trump posted a video on Truth Social featuring a Rolling Stoneheadline about Ms Willis defending rapper YSL Mondo in 2019, and falsely claiming that she “got caught hiding a relationship with a gang member she was prosecuting.”

There is no suggestion or evidence that Ms Willis had any romantic relationship with the rapper, who described “mother-to-son type of talks with her”, reported the magazine.

Ms Willis, who is married with two children, is expected to soon indict him for illegally trying to reverse Joe Biden’s victory in the state, which paved his way to the White House.”

Hey, Donnie. Guess who you can’t fire if you win re-election.

Angling for “the DA can’t be trusted to prosecute me because she’ll be biased against me due to my defamatory remarks about her”?

No one disagrees that any speech that intimidates a witness would be prohibited, what we are talking about is fair use of information,” Lauro said at one point, putting forward a hypothetical that Trump is publicly remarking on something from his personal memory that is also evidence in the case.

“The fact that he is running a political campaign currently has to yield to the administration of justice,” the judge said. “And if that means he can’t say exactly what he wants to say in a political speech, that is just how it’s going to have to be.”

Lauro put forward a hypothetical of Trump making a statement while debating his former Vice President Mike Pence – who is also running for the White House now and is a key witness in the criminal case – that overlapped with what’s in discovery.

The judge wasn’t sold.

“He is a criminal defendant. He is going to have constraints the same as any defendant. This case is going to proceed in a normal order,” Chutkan said.

“You are conflating what your client needs to do to defend himself and what he wants to do politically,” she told him. “And what your client does to defend himself has to happen in this courtroom, not on the internet.”

. . . to go back in time and overturn the election results so he can be president from 2020 to 2024?

No, I assume they were asking if Trump had intended to overthrow the election of 2020 with his actions leading up to January 6. In other words, they’re asking him if he’s guilty of the crimes he’s been charged with. Normally, I would say it’s a stupid question because what’s he gonna do, admit his guilt to reporters? But this is Trump, so it’s entirely possible he would.

Huh… It’s never RICO… Until, maybe it is.

Trump is a flight risk. He should be incarcerated until all four+ cases are settled.

He can leave. I would be OK with that.

That’s assuming anyone would take him. A disgraced blowhard hiding from the law with assets frozen is a lot less useful to most of his “friends”.

Anywhere he goes, he would likely do a lot of mischief.
