Honestly though, I suspect this is that Trump has made “they’re killing the pets” part of his campaign, but caring about animals is so alien to him that he can’t tell that euthanizing a rabid squirrel and cooking a neighbor’s beloved cat aren’t actually equivalent to most people.

Ugh. That’s ominous, and probably representative of the extent to which he’ll try to ensure military obedience. Hell, he certainly has manged to install a lot of judicial obedience. And of course, police are basically already happy to do his bidding. I wonder how easy he’ll find it to whip the National Guard into standing back and standing by (awaiting his orders).

His plan means it was genius, and so the problem must have been the generals screwing it up. Trump can’t fail, only be failed, which is why he needs blind obedience. Of all the dictator things, constantly churning staff was one of the first he figured out last time.
