Eh, tomatoes are just the fruit, it isn’t quite so bad when the plant means for them to be eaten.

It’s interesting the predecessors had genes for tubers without actually producing them though. I wonder what they were actually doing.

It is possible to graft a tomato stalk to a potato stalk, yielding a plant that grows both potatoes and tomatoes. You can produce fries and ketchup from the same plant.
