Defective immune systems? This may explain why some humans develop uterine parasites after engaging in recreational activities.

Jul 5, 2021 6:42 AMOk, so, why the heck didnât you run this a day or two ago, when it would have been most useful?
I was reminded of a roll of toilet paper after itâs fallen in the toilet.
I hate it when that happens.
For the most part, invasive ichthyoids canât be eaten, canât they?
And is âichthyoidsâ even a word? (does quick search). Well, yes it is, by golly! I had no clue!
This is possibly untrue.
Seriously, I sneaked a peekâŚand now theyâre getting into âA Wind in the Doorâ territory; from the Wikipedia article:
âMegâs first task, on the next day, is to distinguish the real Mr. Jenkins from two Echthroi doubles, by identification of the (potential) goodness in him despite her personal grudge. The protagonists then learn that Echthroi are destroying Charles Wallaceâs farandolae, and travel inside one of his mitochondria, to persuade a larval farandola, named Sporos, to accept its role as a mature fara, against the urgings of an Echthros. In the process, Meg is nearly annihilated, and Mr. Jenkins is invaded by his Echthros doubles; whereafter Proginoskes sacrifices himself to âfill inâ the emptiness of the Echthroi, and Charles Wallace is saved.â
Have you read Asimovâs Foundationâs Edge? He describes a planet where everything has a consciousness, and together they form an overall planet-wide consciousness.
I donât think Asimov believed it could be true for a second. But he makes it sound believable.
Puts a whole new dimension on the term ârocks-for-brainsâ.
And donât forget: box of rocks; box of hammers; and, my fave - bag of salt. All as in âdumber thanâ.
The Foundation series is excellent! Crazy to think that some people want to make movies out of it - itâs all about thoughts and ideas and people talking. I donât think there was even one car chase in the books I read. I donât know how theyâd make it into a movie, but I wouldnât expect much.
Have you played Sid Meierâs Alpha Centauri? The plot is that the whole planet is sentient and all communicating and working together to oppose human colonization, and when humans find out and try to connect their networks to it that also gives it access to all of human knowledge.
there are definitely chases, and i can see how they could/would be amped up to be these adrenalin-fueled things. iâm mostly curious to see how they deal with the thousand+ year timeline and constantly changing cast of characters. i think getting Jared Harris to play Harry Seldon was a stroke of genius, because heâll be the bait to get people to watch â and then heâll be gone very quickly. smart move by Harris, too, because future appearances for him can be filmed ahead of time, whenever is convenient for his schedule, and just used whenever they need him for the story in the future.
