In setting up this thread, my hope is to track what is happening IRL not just during the 180 days claimed to be outlined in The Heritage Foundation’s documentation, but what else is being done in the name of their project for only (one hopes) the next four years.
Some grist:
here’s Texas Progressive Rep. Greg Casar in an exchange with Project 2025 anti-immigrant bigot Mark Krikorian during a recent congressional hearing:
and also:
This isn’t exactly a palate cleanser, but I laugh to keep from crying:
I found these two explainers to be useful overviews, esp. when I need to mention The Project to people who have suddenly become more interested in… uh, events and things… these days. I try to remain [outwardly] calm, welcome their curiosity, and never ever ask if they voted, or who they voted for if they did:
The purge continues… and no one will call it what it is…
anyway, I’m sure the Democratic leadership along with Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski are drafting a strongly worded letter as we speak! They’ll get that right out the door very soon!
…is that the purge has a calculated timeline. Make sure the critical few swing-senators vote to appoint Hegseth, then go ahead and dismiss those inspectors general (mentioned in another thread but fwiw: source ).
Because (drum roll please, spotlighting my ignorance): Pam Bondi worked as a lobbyist for GEO, a private for-profit prison “company.”
If enough people are either force-deported, self-deport, or otherwise withdraw their labor from the U.S. economy, acc. to Reich, the prison labor industry will profit even more than they are already.
