I know you’re joking.
I hope you’re joking.
Do not do it.
I’ll 'ave a word with the feathered menace.

You’re just saying that because you want instead
You people, I swear!
You read me like a book!
So we would also need a mechanism for flagging reactions?
ETA, @Kii already anticipated that
Ugh… I just thought of one to maybe add… the Vulcan salute, if it’s available!
i’m not sure how useful that is as a reaction.
it is, though, how i sign off my emails to Dear Brother.
i dunno?
I’d assume it would be the only reaction in the star trek thread… Sometimes you do need to indicate “live long and prosper” I’d argue!
Maybe I’m just being a trekkie partisan!
cool by me.
LLAP
(I know you’re not being sarcastic, I just love this gif)
We absolutely need this .
Here are my thoughts, based largely on the way I have typically used emoji reactions in the past. These are just for illustration - I’m in total agreement that variation in characteristics (skin tone, species, etc.) would be great.
I don’t know if that helps, inflames, or tanks the discussion, but I wanted to contribute my thoughts. Standard disclaimers apply, your mileage may vary, void where prohibited by law, etc.
i agree with all of those and your example applications. that is the menu i am imagining and would use.
You know, I always used this more in the manner of “Huh, I don’t get it, gotta think about that”.
Was usually enlightened a post or three later.
For me, also means sarcastically trying to make sense of something that doesn’t make sense.
But I would like having it.
I was always afraid this was the intent when someone reacted to one of my posts with thinking face
When I ran a discussion board, we had a full palette of emojis and it was definitely fun for everyone to have that freedom to use them.
I think these days people have moved on - we can still use emojis in posts if we like. For reactions, i think having a set is a good idea.
I like what’s been proposed so far. We can always adjust once we try out a list.
