I like their cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Suzanne” too:
It reminds me a lot of The Sisterhood, actually, so I guess that leads naturally to the Sisters of Mercy’s little-known but great cover of Cohen’s “Teachers”:

There was a period in my life where I saw Dopsie every Thursday night at The Maple Leaf.
Cool. Great looking bar, and I’m pleased to note that it has nothing to do with the Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey Club.
I couldn’t listen to all of “Suzanne”; it was actually painful.
It’s also in the movie Angel Heart!
@Beanolini Suzanne is my first name, so I love that song. That version felt so very 80s with the synth. I don’t know if I’d listen to it all the time, but it would be fun in a club.
I already like Luke Pikman’s covers, but this one, as far as I know, is the only one in which he sings, and I need more of those.
That’s the weirdest label maker I’ve ever seen.
I knew little of the omnichord but it appeared twice in succession in my life. First when I was watching adventure time (they play with it the SADDEST SONG EVER), and later with Luke Pikman explaining what is going on with this instrument. Then suddenly youtube was like “oh yeah, have a couple hundred videos about people playing omnichords”. I managed to NOT buy one
Not just a good cover.
I’ve vaguely heard of her, but couldn’t name a single track, so I wound back and watched the whole set.
A much-needed fun hour of distraction, thanks.
I was not familiar with her until I saw her perform on SNL. Her performance made me very happy. I dig her style, too.
We need happy these days.
eta: great cover, too!
