That book…oh, if only more people read it! It really should be required reading in schools. I read it as a 12-year-old, and I’ve made sure I’ve had a copy that I can easily find ever since.

Myself and my son and a friend of mine were discussing “Henry and the Paper Route” just last week.

And I have a copy of the above-mentioned; heck, I’m a kid at heart, I still read so-called “children’s literature” - it’s one of the best ways to remember what it was like being one.

The good don’t necessarily die young:

I won’t necessarily miss him, but his passing is notable.

My first thought when I saw this: “Well, it’s about time!”

this is how i realized this morning what the children’s song “London Bridge is Falling Down” is about. i never realized it was about the impending death of the Queen, and what the plans are after she dies. so morbid!

My first thought was, “What are they trying to draw attention away from now?”

I imagine it went something like this:

Queen Liz enters a bedroom. The lighting is low. A person lies on the bed.

“Phillip? Phillip, dear?”

Phillip turns his head, “Yes, Liz? Is there something I can do for you?”

“Phillip. I’m terribly sorry, but the time has come.”

“The time? What time?”

THE time, dear.” Hissed the queen. “Andrew is about to make the papers again and, well, it has to be.”

“Oh, right.”. Andrew straighten out and stared at ceiling.

“God Save the Queen.”

Elizabeth pressed the pillow over Phillip’s face. He struggled briefly before going still

“God save me.”
