Lurking opposite this evening’s platform
Worst ghost camo ever…
i feel seen
There was a guarana based soda available for a while in the US that I very much enjoyed. The flavor was good but I liked the artwork even more than the taste.
I loved that stuff. There’s probably no way in hell I should have been drinking it – this was right before I was diagnosed with diabetes, and also when I’m stressed excess caffeine has a way of triggering panic attacks. But it was good!
It was one of the few “energy drinks” that didn’t give me panic attacks. I think it’s the taurine that typically sets mine off, so now I’m wondering if Josta skipped the taurine or if I was just young enough that my body shrugged it and the sugar bomb off.
I have no tattoos, but I came perilously close to an ill-advised Josta tat at one point.
Edit: typos
Josta… It is a profane word here.
ETA
The art is terrific, indeed
man!
you can’t just leave it at that!
Josta is like feck. It is an alternative less profane expletive word.
Right?! (Tho it’s not from lack of trying)
Even then there have been depictions, going pretty far back.
ah, cool.
i was worried it was an anatomical reference, or referring to any of several bodily functions, etc.
that would be way more gross to name a soda pop with that kind of word.
BTW, i liked Josta cola, as well as many othe guarana drinks. paticularly this one:
comes in a “french tickler” bottle.
It is HILARIOUS to me that a mass market cola in the US used an offensive word from the place the key ingredient grows for its name.
Josta is a slang, a less offensive synonym for bosta, which means shit in Portuguese. The most common use for josta is when we want to say that something is bad, cheap or poorly made: “This is a josta”, “your electric truck in the end became a josta”. Another equivalent use in English would be WTF, in Portuguese It would be like “What josta is this?”
That’s probably why this soda wasn’t sold here, after all, who would drink a soda that’s a josta?
Huh, I didn’t know Bawls was still around. I haven’t seen a bottle in 2 decades. I did like it back then.
