I’m thinking that they couldn’t show hardly any Bonanza episodes if they did that–which tbh, wouldn’t bother me a bit.

Probably lots of shows like that… popular at the time, but had some kind of problematic content… Kungfu is another one. It actually had a decent amount of good Asian American representation (there are some entire episodes without anyone white other than Carradine), but the whole thing is based on the main character being in yellowface essentially (he’s meant to be half Chinese). That show should have starred Bruce Lee…

I think that having those types episodes/shows (with the disclaimer) is the best solution because you never know why someone might want to watch it. That said i am glad that representation is much better.

I have since learned that the chairman of Jelly Belly Inc. was taken to task in 2013 for donating to try to overturn trans rights in California. I couldn’t find any evidence that he’s had a change of heart.
So I’m amused that they formed an accidental trans pride flag but I won’t be buying any more.

Indeed! I enjoyed it and David Carradine is a great actor, but I think we can all agree Bruce Lee Ruled the school and totally got cheated in all that.

(Inside a portable toilet in a park in St Paul. At TOP I posted a different photo of one with a large straight nail used similarly. I wonder if vandals tamper with them for some reason and thus a lock was used. But I’m guessing that they just fall apart easily, and that the lock was just something that the maintenance person happened to have on hand that would fit.)
