We checked out Meow Wolf here in Denver and it was rad, and frankly overwhelming with the amount of things to see. I wish we would’ve had more time, I took a ton of pics and videos so I’ll be posting some choice ones later in the week when I get home. Will be excluding ones that have me and my partner obvs

Will also be heading to dinner at Casa Bonita in a couple of hours so hoping I’ll have good pictures of that as well

Oh I did forget, we had lunch at a local place called Birdcall. Their chicken sammiches were good

But I saw these there and i just knew it was worth the visit

Went to the one in Santa Fe, but decided not to go in. It was our last full day there and I was getting tired. Looking back, it was probably when we began to get Covid symptoms. Thank dog we opted not to go inside because I was full blown sick the next day.

I’ve only been to the one here in Denver, but supposedly they’re all themed differently but I won’t know until I see one of the other ones. There’s one in Houston so we’re making plans to check it out at some point. The one in Denver has a theme of visiting other dimensions. It’s cool, hope to share pics of it soon

Casa Bonita visit has been achieved. Would I recommend it? Probably not with a big group unless everyone is paying their own way (it’s expensive), but it would be a great date spot. The food was pretty good, drinks were great. I went with my partner and amusingly enough a work acquaintance. I mentioned I’d be in Denver for my bday and he wanted to take me out for dinner, I later mentioned I had extra reservations to Casa Bonita and I wanted him to come with. He’d been wanting to go so he was excited, we all had a blast. I’d like to share pics of the restaurant later but I’ll post these two for now

How hard was it to get in, and how was the food? I’ve been wanting to go since they reopened but had heard the waiting list now is years long so hadn’t even bothered trying. I’m also curious if it’s true they improved the menu (which used to be, essentially, institution-quality food rather than restaurant-quality).

The wait list isn’t that bad, hell I had a reservation for 4 people and I tried to downgrade it to two people last week. Unfortunately they didn’t have any spots for just 2 people but even last week they still had reservations open for larger groups.

As far as the food goes, it is pricey. $45 per person, but it’s a buffet so if you’re hungry you can get your money’s worth. And the quality of the food was good, not the best Mexican I’ve ever had but I left pretty satisfied (I ordered green chile brisket tacos) and everyone else also said they liked a lot what they ordered. And to drink I had a mezcal margarita and it was great.

Overall I’d rate the experience as 7.5/10 mainly due to cost but if you’re going to a buffet you’re looking to spend about that much to begin with. Deep down though if I’m being honest I know I’d rate it higher but I’m biased because of the nostalgia of going as a kid.

Also all the people I interacted with while there were really sweet and fun. Was there for my bday but the servers and even the actors and people manning some specific areas were really attentive and kind.

Much appreciated. We’re having breakfast at the moment, then we’ll be checking out the red rock amphitheatre. After that we’ll be heading to the airport to head back to TX.

The visit has been great, really makes me miss living in Colorado. Hope that some day I’ll be able to afford to move back.
