I wore some for a while, and I have weird crooked toes but they still fit and were comfortable. (I first wore tabi boots as part of a taiko ensemble uniform, and those were okay…)
Honestly the design of the rest of the shoe mattered more for how easy/difficult they were to put on – some were more open at the top some had snug ankle openings, and the flexibility varies a lot with the materials/design.
Ultimately what affects comfort the most with them, is how suitable a thin minimal sole is for the surface you’re on, and what activity you’re doing. I’m not a runner or a podiatrist, but I just would not recommend them for standing around on concrete floors and sidewalks.
(They do make you feel like you have grippy gecko feet, which is kind of cool.)

I had a friend that wore them regularly, he loved them and went through a couple of pairs. What he found difficult was getting the right size because some of his toes were not the typical average size/length, so finding the ones that were comfortable took some effort but once he know what to get he loved it. But the shoes are not for me, wearing shoes with little to no cushion really wrecks havoc on my feet.
