Is that Hermeto Pascoal? (Seated; in 2nd to last photo, although this fellow seems taller/thinner)

Yes. This is Mr. Pascoal, who played at Circo Voador, a venue in downtown last night. It was a state sponsored music festival and free of charge. The house was full of old and new fans.

He is 88 years old and He seemed a little fragile and tired. Last year he had to cancel some gigs due some health issues. Despite these problems, he confidently conducted the performance and his flawless band left the audience going wild.

The other acts of the night were Carlos Malta e Pife Muderno and Amaro Freitas Trio.

Yeah the fact that he had that kettle with him, made me pretty sure it wasn’t just someone who looked like him… (then when you posted the other photo of him actually playing it: “of course!”)
I had no idea he’s 88!

Thx for the add’l. photos & videos

Putzgrila.

What a mess I made. I thought you were talking about the size of the aqueduct, but you were talking about the size of the body of Christ. I shouldn’t be replying to posts in the middle of the street.

Over the weekend me and my partner went to a drag ball here in Austin TX called the Majestic Ball and it was at the historic Paramount Theater. The theme was mythological mayhem.

I bought a toga, some comfy sandals and a golden laurel. But i should’ve foreseen that that perhaps i might mostly read as Jesus :man_facepalming: either way i was happy to have dressed up and some folks looked amazing, wish we had shown up earlier to take pictures of people but we were behind schedule.

As soon as i come in i see some booths near the door and saw these

I chatted up the person running it and the shirts were free! I was delighted, honestly i was ready to pay for them. I got one in the olive green, and in the booth next to it i got some bright pink shades :sunglasses:

A big chunk at the start was performances from some well known drag queens and their dancers. It was so much fun, honestly felt like being at a concert.

Later they had some costume and performance competitions with cash prizes. I didn’t get pictures of most of it because it was kind of chaotic and not as well organized as it could’ve been but this was the highlight for me. This guy looked so good and he won that category which was “The emperor’s guest”, he also won the “weird” category

Is that even a thing? Washing clothing with compressed air?

Probably someone in a shop blowing dust or cuttings off. Unfortunately, depending on the pressure, it can cut the skin.

Can vouch. When I worked in a molding plant, I’d use the air hose to blow the plastic shavings out of my shirt pocket, cuffs etc.

At a subsequent job, there was an air hose to blow the dust out of a circuit board test bed, but the job wasn’t otherwise that dirty, & I did not use the compressed air to clean my clothes.

What I did do, though, was use the air hose to blow compressed air across my mouth, while I changed my oral cavity to play the melody of “Sweet Georgia Brown”*. Where’s the sign for that, Sign‐y-sign Safety Pup?

*Inspired by the guy in the film Gizmo

oh, dear!
i was plant safety manager at three different print shops in two states.
that made me shudder to think about. that’s a personnel write-up and re-certification on safety practices in industrial settings.

but i would have waited to the end of the performance, and applauded the talent first.
