Strategies for Survival

I felt some of that when I saw a certain scene in Sinners. I was moved.

Suddenly seems like a video worth taking notes on, now that WW III seems to have begun. :grimacing: :sob:

My money was actually on invading Greenland as the first military action, not bombing Iran. That may be next. Or Canada.

Iran is the most recent issue and isn’t populated mostly by very pale-skinned folks.

I would love to find every single trump voter and bitch-slap them. It would certainly keep me busy for a while! THEY voted for this!

Looks like the US media is softening the public up for an invasion of Panama. Not that the current regime couldn’t suddenly change their mind and invade somewhere without any preparation.

Trump’s a bully. He’ll try to target the smallest country possible.

Panama no longer has a standing military.

And it’s small, although it does have mountains, which makes guerrilla resistance more challenging.

That’s normally how I more or less spend my weekends, or at least Sundays – it’s a strategy for survival, so I don’t get incapacitated by anger and despair.

But yesterday, and the day before? Nope, King Tramp had to go fuck that up. And so, I’m not doing so great today, but yeah, “surviving” I guess. (Eating lots of birthday cake here helped though!)

I thought mountainous and difficult terrain typically made guerilla resistance more doable?

Nobody chooses guerilla war, it’s just a strategy when you are hopelessly overpowered. We can quote lots of leaders from resistances in the 20th C in which they urge their side to suffer more than the enemy, because it’s not a war of choice for them, but one of very existence.

Sorry; I wasn’t clear - I meant that it would be more challenging for an invading force. I was looking at it from the viewpoint of an invader; which country would be easier to invade?
