Hmm…from a commenter on youtube:
I was excited until I read this in Wikipedia.
On 16 September 2016, during his presidential campaign, Donald Trump used the song in a rally in Miami under the parody title Les Déplorables, a response to Hillary Clinton’s controversial “basket of deplorables” label. On 15 November 2022, it was among the songs played before Trump announced his 2024 presidential campaign.

I’m trying to keep my hopes up. I’m REALLY! FUCKING! TRYING!
USDA does not have enough money for this important work.
But they do have enough money for this nonsense.
The USDA is on a roll.
Wisconsin and Minnesota have similar accents to Canadians, so they are halfway there. I don’t know about Michiganders.
Racists gonna racist. And they will get cheers for hurting “DEI schools.” “Those kind don’t need no education. They need to know rheir place!” God, it makes me tired.
My ‘accent’ from just south of the Canadian border near Bellingham Washington always confused the English speaking Europeans when I had a job in Germany for a couple of years. Since I didn’t sound like a New Yorker or Texan it was concluded that i must be a secret Canadian! – which… wasn’t that far off. [hums “Oh…Can…a…da…” to self]
Depends on what part of the state they come from in MI. Yoopers usually sound like Americans with Canadian accents. And are we talking just white people?
I’ve only heard those accents from Charlie Berens (Wisconsin), and “Fargo”, so yeah, I guess only white people, and Fargo was rural, too.
The only Canadian I’ve ever heard say “aboot” unironically, is from Vancouver (B.C., not Washington), I believe. It was very clearly “aboot”. Most of us say it more like the “ou” in “ouch”.
So if you “aboot”, you could pass for a Vancouverite.
