Since the signs just say “arrested” and not “convicted”, there’s no defamation claim, assuming those people were arrested on those charges. Even if those people are later exonerated, it would still be true that they were arrested for those crimes.
Good point. Would there be a case for defamation or not because it’s, at least in theory, public information?
The eradication of trans people isn’t very far off.
In theory? Since, you know, they were sent to an El Salvadoran prison from which, they say, “no one comes out alive.”
Were they technically arrested? ICE is doing without a lot of the traditional protocols,
Whiny baby wailing about how people don’t like him enough when he’s gone full Hitler and ~40% of Americans still think he’s doing a great job. Yeah, that’s historically an extremely low approval rating, but he should really be grateful his head and those of his treasonous cabinet aren’t already impaled on the White House fence.
No. The one thing something has to be in order to be defamatory is that it has to be false, in addition, the person who says it has to know the thing they’re saying isn’t true, and it can’t be something that’s just an opinion. It has to be a factual statement that the person saying it knew wasn’t true when they said it.
People should put up pictures of all the members of the Trump admins that have been arrested.

Peter Navarro certainly wasn’t happy about it.

“President Trump, stay out of our election. The only people who will decide the future of Canada are Canadians at the ballot box,” Poilievre posted on social media.
“The Conservative that’s running is stupidly no friend of mine. I don’t know him, but he said negative things,” Trump said.
“I think it’s easier to deal, actually, with a Liberal. And maybe they’re gonna win, but I don’t really care. It doesn’t matter to me at all.”
I’ve been thinking about this specific topic a lot lately. I’ve got a number of friends who’ve kickstarted small scale toy companies and they are all terrified.
Does he really think millions of people will write him in?
What am I saying, of course he does.
I am well aware of that. That is not what I was addressing. I was only addressing the idea of suing the administration for defamation over those posters, and there’s almost certainly no case there.
Obviously, my post was for the many other readers here and to be shared amongst their still-hardened acquaintances and ‘problem’ relatives and friends—and not focused on you or the intent for your post.
