After more than a decade of sanctions, there is effectively zero trade from Russia to the US. So he’s threatening a tax on American buyers of nonexistent Russian goods.

That was my thought too. Tariff what? I have yet to hear a coherent answer to this. I’m glad he’s shifting his tone here (almost as if he’s just now realizing that for the past 10+ years that Putin has been playing him), but between this ridiculous “50 days” timeline to the lack of any sort of substantive threat, it seems like just more performative nonsense.

Then in an interview with NBC, Mr. Trump floated increasing his current 10% across-the-board tariffs on many countries to 15% or 20%.

No matter what proclamation anyone makes, American NFL & collegiate fans will never stop calling their precious sport “football.”
