The turret on the little tank is too big.

Glad they came. Happier that they’re not the focus of the coverage.

In Canada, we do love a kilted pipe band; they make a lot of noise and seem to take up a lot of space.

From the second link, “Shows of Weakness”:

An interesting moment happened during this little show. There’s this awful woman named Nancy Mace who serves in the House on behalf of the unfortunate people of South Carolina, and I’m sorry to make you aware of her if you weren’t already. She used her time to grill one of the governors—Tim Walz of Minnesota—with the following question, which left Walz momentarily nonplussed.

What is a woman?

This is a pretty standard question from the type of bigot that Nancy Mace is. It’s meant to erase the existence of trans women, who are being especially targeted for cruelty and exclusion by the birthday boy and all his little minions. The question is asked to attempt to enforce the asker’s own narrow definitions, and then to accuse anyone who refuses to accept those restrictions of sexism and bigotry. This is what the sexist bigot Nancy Mace did, at which point, her job done, she yielded her time, leaving Walz blinking.

Walz might be forgiven for being taken aback; the question seems like a complete non sequitur in the context, which was a House Oversight Committee session on immigration policy. However, as I say, it’s a very standard question among the birthday boy’s crowd, so I think it would be good if everyone who might be asked questions by such types had an answer prepared.

I’d like to furnish an answer to the question.

Question: What is a woman?

Answer: A woman is not a what. A woman is a who.

I’d observe that once you ask who is a woman, you get billions of different wonderful and extraordinary answers, but you no longer get to police which women get to keep their humanity, and to what degree.

So a good person with a gun shot twice at a bad person carrying a with a semiautomatic gun, striking the bad person along with an innocent bystander—who was killed?

Once again, it’s guns that are the problem (along with the dipshits who carry).

My god what a good answer. Filing that away for future reference.

I hate to say it, but this might have prevented a much worse outcome. It sounds like the guy with the AR was preparing to shoot into the crowd. We will never know, but i tend to give some slack to the security guy. And point out that even well trained personnel miss pretty frequently, especially with handguns. This is not really an issue if your target is “that crowd.” Very big problem if your singular target is not alone. Horrible situation all around. I think it would have been much worse had these guys not intervened. That said, the lack of (cop) violence at these protests was a refreshing change.

A guy firing a military assault rifle in the middle of a dense crowd could have killed and maimed hundreds of people. Like that Las Vegas concert shooter.

More information is needed to determine if the actions of the security person were reasonable under the circumstances. But if someone were pointing an assault rifle at me - I’d certainly try to stop them.

When it becomes even more apparent that the murderer Vance L. Boelter was a big-time trump supporter, the question of proper congressional(? hah) outrage if trump issues him a pardon rises.

Dem Assassin Is ‘Strong Trump Supporter’ Best Friend Reveals

UNHINGED

Alleged shooter Vance L. Boelter sent a warning message to his roommate before he disappeared.

Updated Jun. 15 2025 1:48PM EDT

The suspected assassin who ambushed a Minnesota state senator and lawmaker in a deadly attack was a “strong” supporter of President Donald Trump, his roommate revealed.

David Carlson told reporters Saturday that suspected killer Vance L. Boelter voted fro the MAGA president last year. The revelation came after Republicans such as Elon Musk painted Boelter, who was appointed to Governor Walz’s Workforce Development Board in 2019, as a violent leftist—despite his pro-life views and his plans to target dozens of Democratic leaders. …

Yeah, that was a good way to think about the question, I agree.

Far as I can tell, numbers produced from their posterior. It’s about twice the provisional crowdsourced figures from “Strength In Numbers” (who detail their methodology and data sources) who put it in the 4-6 million range and the event organizers themselves who claimed 5 million nationwide. “Alt National Parks” is run by unknown people and their completely unsourced assertions really can’t be trusted, as much as I’d like to think they’re correct here.

Melania’s face is giving “if I breathe through my mouth I won’t cry,” and the guy on the left looks like he’s wondering if the flag in his pocket can double as an air freshener. It’s giving Febreze can’t fix this. Neitherer can Lysol.

The two dudes behind him look like the fart hit them mid-inhale and they are desperately trying not to spiritually ascend out of their bodies. Their eyes are locked in a thousand-yard stare, calculating the half-life of whatever just escaped Trump’s Depends. Both of them look like they’ve smelled the end of the Republic and it’s… warm. And wet.
