The goddamn Trump Administration (Part 2)

I bet fred called him every dirty name for a Jewish man behind his back.

Performative horseshit for his cult, and I’m amazed (although I shouldn’t be) that the DOJ has bought into this action. Even their lawyers can be disbarred.

WTF is up with these ol’ white wealthy autocrats having preppy/pimp-style nicknames now?

I’m reading the complaint right now. It’s . . . it’s something. It’s so bizarre. First of all, the complaint was filed IN THE DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF MARYLAND! They’re filing a lawsuit in the court that they’re suing, so it will be heard by a judge named in the suit? How TF is that supposed to work? Then, they’re asking for injunctive relief . . . AND THEN ARGUING THAT THE COURT IS ABUSING ITS POWERS BY ISSUING INJUNCTIONS!!! This is fucking wild! I have no idea what the fuck is going on with this lawsuit. It’s laughable on its face.

So, to summarize, this is the lawsuit: “I’m suing you, the court, in your court, asking you to issue an injunction to stop you from issuing so many injunctions against me, because I don’t think you should be allowed to issue injunctions.”

ETA: I’m sorry to keep going on this, but the more I think about this lawsuit, it’s just . . . I don’t know. I can’t even find the words for how bizarre this is. Like, this case can’t even be heard, I don’t think. Since they’ve filed the suit in the District of Maryland and named every judge in that district as a defendant, every single judge who could hear this case would be required to recuse themselves because they’re a party to the lawsuit, as is the court itself. Like . . . I really don’t think you can do this. If the administration even can sue a district court, I think the Supreme Court would have original jurisdiction in such a suit? Maybe? I don’t even know. Hang on … Constitution check, brb.

ETA2: There’s nothing in the Constitution giving SCOTUS original jurisdiction on this, so . . . I still don’t know how this is supposed to work. This is way above my pay grade.

Maybe this is a constitution check? Like they didn’t know how it works either, so they’re trying and will see what happens?

Maybe the whole filing was written by AI, like RFK jr’s MAHA report?

Speaking of which, at what point will Congress impeach RFK jr for coming to hearings and not knowing a single thing he is asked except for the parts he lies about?

It’s in his wikipedia page… I think it’s just a nickname he’s had for a while… Maybe it’s a common shortening of Benjamin which, I think can also be Binyamin?

Some background:

Yeah, I know it’s his nickname, I just find it odd for heads of state to be referring to other heads of state by their personal nicknames in an official setting.

ETA: I mean, can you imagine FDR talking to the press and saying, “Yeah, I picked up the phone and called Winnie and told him he’s gotta do a better job keeping Adi from taking over Europe.”

I’m pretty sure most world leaders refer to T**** by his nickname, shithead , when he’s not around…

Beloved Leader can probably buy (or barter) that from Palantir as a service, no matter which phone or network his followers use.

Would this mass recusal allow someone (?) to appoint a new judge who would not be subject to the action because they were not in post when it was issued, and the new judge be somebody’s (?) patsy to rule in favour of the DOJ?

I have no idea, I’m just trying to wrap my head around what sort of bizzarro surreal logic might be going through somebody’s brain in the DOJ.

This is too big an open goal. I have successfully resisted going there.

I thought it ought to say ‘The US President’ to be properly accurate, but no. Upon reading the article it really is Donald Trump himself, as long as he is president. When he leaves office it reverts so it will not be the person of the next president holding the golden share.

Under the provision, Trump — or someone he designates — controls that decision-making power while he is president. However, control over those powers reverts to the Treasury Department and the Commerce Department when anyone else is president, according to the filings.

Why is Peter Hegseth whining on my tv?

It seems he has an entire press conference to whine about him not getting puff pieces by the media.

I see those reports, and I keep reading it as “Trump gets golden shower” and I want it to stop now.
